Long Pond Iron Works Long Pond Ironworks was founded in 1766 and operated continually until 1882, making iron for a wide range of purposes. Today, the ruins of three furnaces and other unique structures remain in a beautiful setting within Long Pond Ironworks State Park near the New York border in West Milford, New Jersey. New York - New Jersey Trail Conference The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is a federation of more than 95 hiking clubs and environmental organizations and 10,000 individuals dedicated to building and maintaining marked hiking trails and protecting related open space in the bi-state region. Our constituent clubs have a combined membership of over 100,000. Appalachian Mountain Club - NY North Jersey Ch. The AMC is the oldest, and one of the largest, Conservation and Outdoor Recreation organizations in the US. The Nature Conservancy NJ Chapter The Nature Conservancy's mission is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. NJ Audubon Society - Weiss Ecology Center Fostering environmental awareness and a conservation ethic while preserving wildlife and natural systems since 1897. Skylands Clean Founded in 1987, Skylands CLEAN, Inc. continues to work in the public interest to promote good government and protect the environment, quality of life, and essential character of the New Jersey Highlands region.  The Highlands Coalition The Highlands Coalition, established in 1988, seeks to protect and enhance the sustainability of natural and human communities in the Highlands region of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. At a regional level, we work to secure federal and state funding for land protection in the Highlands and to foster more regional approaches to planning for and managing growth. Pequannock River Coalition The Pequannock River Coalition is dedicated to the preservation of the Pequannock River as a natural, recreational, aesthetic and water supply resource Sustainable West Milford This non profit has a mission to enable citizens to create a sustainable community through their own personal participation and leadership.
